Brittany Petersen

Director

Violence Prevention Coordinator, Tucson Police Dept.

Brittany Petersen is the Violence Prevention Coordinator for the Tucson Police Department. She moved to Tucson in 2004 to attend the University of Arizona. During and after college she worked for former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and then for former City Councilmember Karin Uhlich. After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, she became the Director of Business Development for a Minor League Baseball team in Savannah, Georgia. Brittany then served abroad with the CIA, later choosing to return to Tucson to try to make a tangible impact on a local level. Her role as a CASA Coordinator with the Court Appointed Special Advocate program at Pima County Juvenile Court furthered her interest in trauma-informed approaches to prevention and intervention. She currently serves on Job Corps' Behavior Council. Brittany spends her free time on the tennis court, and she thinks of mornings spent playing tennis with Gabe Zimmerman every time she's at Himmel Park.
