Wild Burro Trailhead

The Lower Javelina and Wild Burro Loop Trail winds through desert mountains. On the Lower Javelina Trail, you cross the wash to reach the base of the northern canyon wall. From there, the trail gradually climbs and follows the canyon wall's flank. This trail meanders through a rugged landscape, offering views that stretch out to Baboquivari Peak and along the canyon, which are exceptionally breathtaking.

The trail continues along the broad, level, sandy Wild Burro Wash toward the Wild Burro section. You'll encounter a variety of desert plants in this wash, such as jojoba, agaves, and sotol.

This trail is 3.4 miles long with minimal elevation gain.
