The Chuk-son Trail and Beyond

 Join Ironwood Tree Experience Youth Action Corps and Staff for a stroll along a section of the new Chuk-son Trail. This eye opening nature and history walk passes through the heart of Tucson from the Ironwood Tree Experience – Urban Field Station to the El Tiradito Shrine in Barrio Viejo! 

The Chuk-son Trail is a informal interpretive trail meandering along the fascinating avenues, arroyos, and alleys of Tucson. The trail highlights humans and ecology of the past and the present, and what makes our place in the Sonoran Desert special. Participants may walk the entire route or just parts of it. The Chuk-son Trail was created and is guided by Youth Action Corps and and Ironwood Tree Experience Staff.

  • Meet at 9AM at the Ironwood Tree Experience, Urban Field Station – SW corner of 6th Street and 6th Avenue
  • End at 12PM at the Barrio Viejo, El Tiradito Shrine – NW corner of S Main Avenue and W Simpson Street

Wear sensible shoes, bring a large reusable water bottle, and don’t forget a hat and sunscreen.
