Join us downtown at Armory Park and get your body moving for the New Year!
The Children’s Museum – Tucson and Armory Park Senior Center have teamed up with a wide range of community health and fitness groups to host an event that promises to be the largest number of body moving options available in a single location!
Whatever type of body movement inspires you, you are sure to find it here! There are fun activities planned for every age group, body type and fitness level.
At 12pm- Living Streets Alliance will host a family-friendly bicycle ride around downtown neighborhoods.
At 1 pm - Uzo Dance Methods and partners will be teaching Mandisa’s “Overcomer” flash mob dance routine from the main stage.
At 3pm - Meet Me Concepts will host a special Saturday edition of their Meet Me at Maynards Walk/Run around its usual route, but with a new twist – start/end from Armory Park…so I guess that makes it a Meet Me at Armory Park!
And the options don’t end there!
Be on the look out for Playformance and Grow to be Fit’s fun, non-competitive, team-building, full-body motion activities on the lawn.
Which body-moving boogie do you prefer - Zumba or Jazzercise? Join us for the Community Dance Fest and you find out. Jazzercise starts at 12 pm and Zumba at 2 pm – both from the Main Stage in Armory Park.
In between, check out various stations located throughout the block and inside Armory Park Community Center. You will find classes for Nutrition, Yoga, Tai-Chi, Line Dancing, Ballroom Dancing, Table Tennis, Shuffleboard, Bocce, Double Dutch Jump Roping, Jumping Castles and Rock Climbing.
A coalition of groups coordinated by Tucson Medical Center and Community Partnership of Southern Arizona will be on hand for the BEYOND Community Health Fair to help connect you to free and low-cost wellness programs in the community that will keep you going all year long.
Hungry? You can pick up a nutritious lunch or snack from one of the Food Trucks or purchase a meal from the Armory Park Senior Club.
Get your friends and family together and join us downtown to start the year off right!
Let’s get outside and move Tucson!
